KAS Council Meeting Minutes, September 20, 2002

3. Fall Field Trip
Stan has provided an excellent program for tomorrow’s trip to Chautauqua Hills. Stan has also agreed to help arrange future fall trips:
-September 20, 2003 - Luss Breaks, Cheyenne Co.
-September 18, 2004 - Cherokee Co.
-September 17, 2005 - Cimarron National Grasslands (Morton Co.)
4. Annual Meeting
Jim reported arrangements for the 2003 meeting at Pittsburg, April 11-12. A website for the Annual Meeting provides updated information. He and Joe Arruda have planned an excellent meeting. Future annual meeting sites:
-Apr. 2-3, 2004, joint with Missouri Academy of Sciences, Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Medical theme?, organizer Brenda Oppert
-Apr. 1-2, 2005, tentatively set for Kansas Neuman/Friends, Wichita, organizer George Potts
5. Election
Cal reported on the progress for the 2003 election of Council members.
6. Distinguished Lecturer
Cal reported that the 2002-2003 Distinguished Lecturer’s Series will include Dr. Larry Martin, Dr. Orley Taylor, and Dr. Normal Slade, all from the University of Kansas.
7. New Membership Application
A new membership application was presented by Brenda, and corrections were suggested.
8. Next Council Meeting was scheduled for Friday, April 11, at the Annual Meeting (however, we forgot about the winter Council meeting)
